Educate citizens beyond the scientific disciplines. Instructing students with technical knowledge and zeal. Make the classroom an environment where they can discuss and share human experiences. These and other assumptions are part of the "Human Values Program," that the City of Sierra presents in the 3rd and August 4th, about 100 professionals in the school system.
The new teaching methodology puts in parallel to technical issues, the teaching of values such as respect, dignity, forgiveness and affection. Who presents the model to educators Sierra is Professor Gonzalo Vicente de Medeiros, president of the Institute of Sathya Sai Education of Brazil.
According to Secretary of Education Serra, Marcia Lamas, work in classrooms passes be done in an interdisciplinary manner with a focus on personal relationships. "We will restore human values. Everyone has to get involved, to embrace this cause. It is proven that a work based on truth, right conduct, peace and non-violence brings good results," said Marcia.
Invited by the municipal administration, Medeiros advocates a model of education that is based on Eastern values learned during one of his trips to India. During the course, participants learn and practice meditation techniques do not develop literacy, but of "universal love" and "forgiveness" as he defines it. All course concepts were transferred by a Hindu monk Medeiros Sathya Sai Baba (Sathya means Truth, Sai Baba and Mother, Father).
"The school is the ideal space to spread values. At the moment our consciousness is still a sheet of blank paper, the concepts that will be on data and examples that are in the past is what will determine our actions throughout life "says Medeiros.

In the municipality of Serra, the "Human Values Program" will be applied in pilot form, into three units: the Elementary School (EMEF) Julite Miranda Freitas in Nova Almeida, EMEF Jacaraípe in the neighborhood of the same name and the Center Municipal Early Childhood Education (CMEI) Prof. Maria José do Nascimento, in Santo Domingo. In total, approximately 1700 students have contact with this new philosophy of learning.
According to Secretary of Education of the City, Marcia Lamas, student education as a conscious human being and as a citizen is key to building society. "We are not arguing here only a technical flag. For the student assimilates the knowledge and practice it in his experience, he must feel all that are reading, studying, listening. We need to form values," he pointed out.
According to Gonçalo Medeiros, the current educational system in Brazil reproduces the misconception be based projects to the outside of the student. "Why do people grow and become increasingly violent? Because the environment they're only see violence. Only those who emanate and radiate peace can teach it," he says.
During the training of teachers, educators Medeiros want to pass on the experience of feeling the joy and acknowledge the feelings that permeate Education. "When you experience the energy of love, feels a tremendous inner joy. The teacher wakes up and goes to the student what is inside," he added.
